Gadi Lahav

M.Sc. Electric Engineering

Happily married, father of twins and a desert born dog.

Experienced R&D engineer. Veteran Antenna developer with a versatile background spanning throughout the entire product life-cycle.

Prolific experience in lab work, prototyping and never afraid to get my hands dirty. Performed EMC testing for both FCC part 15 and 18, co-existence testing. Over the years, I have worked with a variety of simulation tools, while learning and even developing new simulation flows and methodologies. I have never been a simulation only engineer. When necessary, I pick up the pen and write math, perform comprehensive lab work, document my work and whatever is required.

Prior to being an independent contractor, I have worked in versatile roles. Started off as a software developer and developed an expertise in parallel computing.

Putting my M.Sc. degree to good use, worked for 3 years as a Microwave engineer at a startup developing wireless charging solutions. There I experienced development from early POC stages to design for mass production. As in any small startup, performed any task necessary. As the main task was Microwave simulations, development and testing, if necessary I would do PCB bring-ups, firmware development. Developed solutions to withstand FCC standards.

Layer, at Qualcomm, I worked as an Antenna engineer for various projects. 60G miniature array development, developing combined band antennas and products and cellular LTE Antennas, while performing co-existence testing, Specific absorption rate (SAR) simulations for cellular products, etc. 80GHz Automotive MIMO long range radar, pushing manufacturability to the very limit, while trying to maintain a sane price tag. Finally, 5G mmWave client and base station development and testing.

At 2014, received a Masters’ degree in Electrical Engineering from Ben-Gurion University, with honors. Specialized in Electromagnetics. Subjects of interest include Computational Electromagnetics, imaging methods and numerical analysis.
