Over the last few years, RF With Care has contributed where it could to the open-source community.
OpenEMS
Three siginificant pull requests were added to openEMS
- Lumped element support
- Local absorbing Boundary conditions and better absorption support
- Arbitrary waveguide mode support – Not yet merged
A fully open-source EM simulation software is definitely the holy grail of all designers. Before actively starting to contribute I also wrote a small and somewhat useful bridge between the well known circuit CAD (a.k.a layout software) and the octave interface of OpenEMS.
If you are not familiar with OpenEMS, it is an open-source FDTD simulator, written by Thorsten Liebig. I will keep developing this interface. The results are partially verified, making this a somewhat reliable tool. Feel free to read about some of the process here.
Plot Extractor (With Care)
After the 20th time I improvised, I decided to make an official open source tool for plot digitazation. Downloadable from pypi, as well!
